Frank G. Yuengling, the grandson of the D. G. Yuengling & Son, Inc. Brewery founder David Yuengling, was born. He was educated at Princeton University and, of course, his grandfather's brewery. Following his father's death in 1899, 23 year old Frank took over as president of the brewery. He borrowed $500,000, and slowly bought out the other family members, with he and his mother living on $50 a month until the debt was repaid. He ran the company until his death on January 29th, 1963.
