Pioneer Colorado brewer Lorenzo Stumpf was born. In about 1870 he established a brewery in Denver, just a few years after the town had been established. He later brewed for about three years in Leadville with a partner named Lichter. In around 1880 Stumpf was hired to be a foreman of the Ph. Zang Brewery in Denver, and was sent south to Pueblo to run the Ph. Zang agency there.
Lorenzo Stumpf died on July, 15, 1887 at 51 years of age.
