Nicholas Schellinger was born in Muehlheim, Wurttemberg, Germany. The son of a wealthy miller, he emigrated to America in 1870 and settled in Mishawaka Indiana. In 1874 he married Miss Amelia Kamm. His Brother-in-law, Adolph Kamm also had brewery training and the two families combined their fortunes and knowledge to make the Kamm & Schellinger Brewing Co. Nicholas Schellinger died on June 5th, 1918 but his brewery would live on until 1951.
