Ferdinand Heim was born in Walfert, Germany. In 1857 Heim established the first of his breweries in Manchester Missouri. That endeavor lasted just two years. In 1883 He opened a second brewery in Kansas City. This one was a success and in 1992 he moved his operation across town to the Chestnut & Guinott location. This operation grew to be the leading brewery in the region. Mr. Heim died October 9, 1895.
