Gottlieb Muhlhauser was born in Bavaria, Germany. In 1866 Conrad Windisch, Gottleib Muhlhauser and his brother Henry Muhlhauser combined their efforts and formed the Windisch Mulhauser & Bro. Brewery in Cincinnati, Ohio. The brewery became one of the largest in the state. After prohibition it was renamed The Burger Brewing Company.
Muhlhauser died on February 9th 1905. The Burger Brewery closed in 1973.
