Woltize (Woltje) Kamena was born in Bremen, Germany. He emigrated to America in May of 1852 and settled in New Jersey. He was a merchant, who in his late 30s joined in a partnership with Otto Koehler in the White Brewery in Guttenberg. He retired in late 1878 and, having never married, passed into history. His final mark in the world was in 1906, when a directory shows him aged 82 years and living in Brooklyn New York.
