Gerhard Schott, founder of the Schott Brewery in Highland, Illinois, was born in Frankfurt am Main, Hesse, Germany. The brewery he started in 1855 would go on to survive Prohibition and last nearly 100 years. Gerhard Schott died in February of 1881
