Emma Bentzen Koehler became proprietor of the San Antonio Brewing Association after her husband Otto Koehler's death in 1914. She ran the brewery through Prohibition and with help from B. B. McGimsey, kept the doors open selling mostly dairy products. She died on April 26, 1943 at the age of 85.
