Monday, July 11, 1836 Paul Fleckenstein
Paul Fleckenstein was born in Hoesbach, Bavaria, Germany. In 1854 Paul, with his brothers Gottfried, Ernst and Joseph, emigrated to America. They all settled in southern Minnesota. In 1878 Paul purchased his brewery on Harrison Street in Blue Earth City. This brewery by the often overlooked Fleckenstein brother slaked the thirst of southern Minnesotans for more than 30 years, finally closing in 1906. Paul Fleckenstein died on May 11th, 1900.
