Eugene H. Hack was born on in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, his father, Joseph, was 19 and his mother, Anna, was 14. He emigrated to New York on August 14, 1967 and found a home in Vincennes, Indiana. He married Dorathea "Dora" Hackman on May 21, 1873, in that town. On the 1st of January, 1875 Hack joined Anton Simon to organize the Hack & Simon Brewing Company. He died on June 12, 1916, in Vincennes, Indiana, at the age of 76 years, and was buried there.
