Heinrich "Henry" Daniel was born in Dorndiel, Germany. He was a trained brewer and emigrated to the US after his marriage to Margaretha Lang in 1865. They settled in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, where the 1870 census shows him brewing right next door to Charles Hasslinger at the future Nicholas Klinger firm in Fort Atkinson.
From there they went to Iowa. In around 1880 Henry opened a brewery in the town of Carroll. He ran that firm for only two years before he died, on April the 30th of 1882. He was 43 years of age.
