Fredrick Justus Heinrich Krug was born in Niederzwehren, Germany. He arrived at age 19 in America in 1852. He first found employment in St. Louis, then in 1859 he moved to Omaha in the Terriroty of Nebraska. He was one of the very first settlers to the new capital and with Rudolph Selzer he set up what was probably the first brewery in town. He ran the brewery for the next 60 years until his death at age 85 on November 18th, 1919.
