Description

One of the four original Schmidt "Scenic" set cans from the late 1950s. Finding these cans from "Jacob Schmidt" (as opposed to Associated or Pfeiffer) is rare!

This can is a work of art by Minnesota native Duck Stamp artist Les Kouba. One of the original 4 scenes he painted for the Jacob Schmidt Brewing Company in the early 1950s to promote their flagship "Schmidt Beer". The scene features Minnesota's Past and Present separated by the body of water, in this instance a small prairie stream. To the left is a Conestoga wagon, presumably loaded with goods, being pulled by two stout ox. Across the stream is a modern, streamlined freight train making good time on the tracks.
