T.M. Norton Brewing Co.
Thomas M. Norton began brewing ale in Anderson in 1866. Railroads were moving west. Situated so near the trains made it easier to transport beer longer distances altyhough teams of horses continued to be used. T. M. Norton began brewing lager beer in 1882 and introduced mechanical refrigeration in 1890. In 1900 a modern plant was boilt, producing up to 25,000 barrels a year.
