Ebenezer Beadleston was born in Queensbury, New York. In 1846 his father-in-law, Abraham Nash hired him to manage the Manhattan branch his thriving Troy New York brewery. The brewery was called Empire Brewery of New York City. Later Beadleston and partner Ernest G. W. Woerz, grew the brewery into one of the largest such concerns in the country. Ebenezer Beadleston died on the 12th of November, 1889. His brewery lived on for another 30 years, finally done in, in 1920, by National Prohibition.

Col. Walter W Price was born in England. He emigrated to America in 1840 and settled in Manhattan where he became a coal dealer. In 1860 he joined Ebenezer Beadleston in managing the Empire Brewery of New York. Despite participating in the Civil War, Price remained a partner in the brewery until his death on the 5th of June 1876. The brewery, under the new name Beadleston & Woerz, continued for another 43 years. It was finally shut down by National Prohibition in 1920.

Ernest G. W. Woerz, future vice-president, treasurer, and founder of Beadleston & Woerz Brewing Co. of New York, New York, was born on June 6, 1834, in Wurttemburg.

William Henry Beadleston, president of the Beadleston & Woerz Empire Brewery in New York City, was born. Under William's leadership the brewery his father founded grew to be a large player supplying beer to many locations east of the Mississippi.
